About the Director
Mr. Adam W. Faw is the artistic director of the Pinecrest Players. A graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Teaching Theatre Arts, Faw later earned his Master of Education in Theatre Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mr. Faw took the helm of the Pinecrest Players in the fall of 2003, and has been teaching and directing ever since. Directing credits at Pinecrest include The Addams Family, Hairspray, Guys and Dolls, Tarzan the Musical, Beauty and the Beast, and many more.
In addition to teaching and directing, Faw works with multiple arts organizations throughout the community and state. As the auditorium manager of the Robert E. Lee Auditorium, he collaborates with organizations such as North Carolina Symphony, Miss Greater Sandhills/Greater Carolina Scholarship Competition, Carolina Philharmonic, Taylor Dance, and more.
Statewide, Mr. Faw is a fierce advocate for the arts. He serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Theatre Conference, where he works closely with other arts educators, professional artists, and lawmakers to ensure a quality arts education for all students in North Carolina.
In 2007, Mr. Faw received a full scholarship to study Teaching Shakespeare through Performance at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, sponsored by the Sandhills Branch of the English Speaking Union. In 2014, he was chosen as North Carolina's K-12 Theatre Arts Educator of the Year by the North Carolina Theatre Conference. That same year, he was also selected as Pinecrest High School's Teacher of the Year by his fellow educators.
