Assignment 7a:  Scenic Design Third (final) Section:

  • You will build a physical 'white model' of the your set.  If you choose this option, you will be building a 3 dimensional model (a white model) out of card stock and foam board.  These materials will be available for use in class.  This will be a 1/2 inch scale model (1/2 inch on the model equals 1 foot in real life).   We have scenic design templates (we have them in class in binders) that you will need to use for your design.
  • Your scale model should have everything that will need to be built/constructed/purchased for the set for your show.  This includes all walls, doors, windows, chairs, tables, couches, bookcases (etc).

If your play has multiple scenes, you only ned to choose one to design for this assignment.

Once you have finished your scenic design for your show, document it by taking at least Five pictures (or screenshots) of your set, from different perspectives.  Your (at least) five images of your set design will be the documentation for this assignment.
